Successful start-up of modular 100 MW power station in Sri Lanka.

This power station is located in Embilipitiy, in the South of Sri Lanka. This remarkable power is generated by 14 heavy fuel oil fired gen.-sets which were arranged in two pairs of each 7 generator sets.

The overall turnkey ready electrical equipment consisting of:

  • an 11 kV medium voltage switchgear including neutral earthing boards,
  • low voltage switchgears,
  • DC – supply system,
  • installation material, like cables, cable racks, etc.
  • and the overall control system was supplied by SEG

The power station’s common control system is based on two redundant SCADA-systems.

Thanks to their modular, containerised design, setting up and testing of the above indicated electrical components could already be done in our works in Kempen, thus saving a lot of time for installation and commissioning at site.

The elevated containers in front of the power station are harboring almost the overall electrical equipment
